Neville
began working on his debut album "True to
Country" in Tamworth. He spent the 1997 festival checking out the
musicians he would like on the album. In late 1998 the production began. He
recorded at the Hilltop Studio with Gary Brown. Gary is a second generation
Tamworth country Musician, his father is the late Gentleman Geoff Brown. Gary is
talented guitarist as well as producing digital recordings in his Tamworth
studio. He played lead, rhythm, bass and acoustic guitar as well as keyboard on
the album. You can visit Gary on http://www1.tpgi.com.au/users/musicman/
The cream of country musicians in Tamworth worked on "True to Country". He was able to work with the four times TIARA award winners Pam and Kevin of the Spencer Band. They won the best female artist, best male artist, best song and best group in the 1999 Taira awards. Neville can say that he works with the best because he worked with them before they achieved this recognition. Unfortunately, they are no longer playing as a group.
Brett Dallas, one of the talented Dallas family, renowned country musicians played lead guitar and acoustic guitar. Brett also has an album out called "That's My Love" . The wonderful pedal steel guitar on "True to Country" was played by Mick Wilson from Tasmania. A new talent on the album is Rusty Crook a young lead player out of Tamworth that has the world at his feet. Rob Brown plays bass, Dallas Southam from Hot Diggety lead, Trish Wilson fiddle, the famous Laurie Minson on Dobro and harmonica and sax is played beautifully by Laurie Lewis.
This album is his first serious foray into music production and is the culmination of a years work on weekends and after his daytime job in Tamworth. On this album you will find tracks that span his song writing career from his teens, right up until the album was released.
